Kepulauan Seribu Central Statistics Agency (BPS), held the Development of Love Statistics Village (Cantik Village) activity in Kelapa Island Village, Kepulauan Seribu Utara Islands District, Wednesday (07/08/2024).
According to the Head of Kepulauan Seribu BPS, Alfhonso Triantoro, as stated in Law Number 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics, the Beautiful Village Program is a form of BPS's responsibility in providing sectoral statistics development. Cantik Village is a program to increase the competency of village officials in managing and utilizing data, so that village development planning is more targeted.
"The background to holding this activity is that villages are no longer considered as objects of development, but are placed as subjects and spearheads of development, in improving community welfare. "BPS, as the leading sector in statistical development, has an important role in improving the management, utilization and literacy of village level data," he said.
Alfhonso explained that the Beautiful Village Development program designed by BPS generally aims to increase literacy, awareness and the active role of village/subdistrict officials and the community in carrying out statistical activities.
"This activity is also a standardization of statistical data management to maintain the quality and comparability of statistical indicators, optimize the use and utilization of statistical data so that development programs in villages/subdistricts are right on target, as well as establishing statistical agents at the village/subdistrict level," he explained.
In the future, the implementation of Beautiful Village Development in Pulau Kelapa Subdistrict can be sustainable, in terms of data management that fulfills needs and is able to implement the principle of One Indonesian Data, developing data collection in accordance with village potential, implementing the use of data in village development policies, as well as increasing the statistical literacy of village communities.
It was recorded that this activity was attended by ASN Kelapa Island Village, Beautiful Village Program Trustees from BPS DKI Jakarta Province and Seribu Islands BPS, as well as 10 participants in the Beautiful Village Development for Kelapa Island Village.
Kelapa Island Village Head, Muslim hopes that the 10 statistical agents who have been appointed by Kelapa Island Village will be able to understand and follow the instructions given in the Beautiful Village Development activities.
"Hopefully the village/subdistrict officials or statistical agents who have been selected can participate in this activity to the fullest and can realize the Beautiful Village Program, which is in Kelapa Island Subdistrict," he added.
