Jakarta Unemployment Declines

In August 2019, the workforce in DKI Jakarta was recorded at 5.16 million people of which 4.84 million people were working residents.
    During the period August 2018-August 2019, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in DKI Jakarta decreased by 0.02 percentage point.
    Most of the population of DKI Jakarta in August 2019 worked in the trade sector of 1.17 million people (24.12%).
    In August 2019, 68.45 percent of the population worked in formal activities, and the percentage of formal workers fell 1.37 percentage points compared to August 2018.
    Absorption of labor until August 2019 is still dominated by residents with high school education equivalent, which is 2.24 million people (46.33%).
    The highest TPT was found in Central Jakarta City at 7.51 percent while the highest TPT was found in North Jakarta City at 67.92 percent.
