DKI Jakarta Experiencing 0.21 Percent Inflation in October 2019

In October 2019, DKI Jakarta experienced 0.21 percent inflation due to rising prices of processed food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco by 1.01 percent. All sub groups experienced price increases such as processed food 1.35 percent, non-alcoholic beverages 0.88 percent, and tobacco and alcoholic drinks 0.06 percent.
    During January-October 2019 inflation in DKI Jakarta reached 2.73 percent, higher than inflation in the same period the previous year which was 2.35 percent.
    The inflation rate in October 2019 against October 2018 in DKI Jakarta reached 3.65 percent, higher than the inflation rate in the same period the previous year which was 3.10 percent.
    In October forty-three cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation was Manado City 1.22 percent and the lowest inflation was in Pematang Siantar City, Tual City, Ternate City 0.01%.
    Inflation also occurred in two DKI Jakarta Satellite Cities including Tangerang City experiencing inflation of 0.18 percent, and Bogor City 0.16 percent. While other DKI Jakarta Satellite Cities experienced deflation, namely Bekasi City -0.08 percent, and Depok City -0.09 percent.
    The city experiencing the highest deflation was Balikpapan City -0.69 percent and the city experiencing the lowest deflation was Palopo City -0.01 percent.
